Glasgow

Glasgow was much better. Being in Scotland was a good start and we were playing in a revamped old porno theatre, ‘The Classic Grand.’ We had a much better sound and an all together nicer time of it on stage. You didn’t disappoint yet again. The biggest problem today was how the burger in the raddisson had gone downhill since last time… too dry, not enough salad. A high class problem but sort it out!
The Xerts were great and really warmed you all up. A name to keep an eye on.

Went to the Baltic Art Gallery and wasn’t impressed.

Touring commences

Posted in Mark on May 30, 2008 by feederweb

After 3 weeks of rehearsals we’re out on the road with a new record, a new cast member, a new sound man, a new stage manager and more ramblings from me. You lucky munchkins.

We spluttered off the line (like Marco Melandri at last weeks motoGP) at Northumbria students union bar. It is the worst sounding room in the universe. Concrete everywhere and not a warm tone to be had, horrible. I was wandering why all your faces looked so pained. It was, I was reliably informed, a wall of noise. Hey ho, nobody’s fault but the person who designed a room for the purposes of amplified entertainment in a concrete box. It’s done, it’s gone, lets move on. I hope you all come back for the proper tour to hear how good it should sound.

We have a new tour personage… another Dean. Dean Deavall. We’ve nicknamed him CC. If anyone is old enough to know where that comes from I’ll put them on the guest list for one of the shows in the autumn. He’s the spitting image of Gavin Peacock too. Formerly of Spider Simpson among others, he’s on keyboards and samples which means we are playing fully live for the first time since I joined. No sequencers anymore. Hooray! Welcome to the topsy turvy world of Feeder Mr Keys.

Video for We Are The People

We all looked like Blue Meanies with our lovely blue-screen balaclava’s on. Mmmm. Sexy.

Ended up riding the bike in the vid. Lovely. KTM will be chuffed. Yamaha won’t. Doubt it will make the cut.

Natalie, the competition winner who works for TFL (Aaaaaagh!) was lovely and brilliant and will be coming to a gig all VIP’d up to make up for none of us saying goodbye when we finished. How rude!

Hangin’ around creates one thing. The need for coffee.

Franks cafe. I asked if Frank was Frank. Apparently Franks ‘away’ and I wondered whether that meant he was helping to hold up some mafia built structure somewhere or whether he was really Frank and was being cagey because I might be Inland Revenue. He asked me if I was a film star. I was flattered, (a good tactic if I was Frank to stop me from taking him to court for none payment of tax, if of course, (which I’m obviously not) I was the IR and assuming of course (which I am) he is a mobster who hasn’t paid any tax). I thought ‘what a chancer, you only want a headshot for your cafe.’

Great apple pie Frank please include me in your new foundations.
